On December 18, 2024, Paul LLP, along with Hartley LLP and Joseph Saveri Law Firm, were appointed as Interim Co-Lead Counsel for the Cardholder Class in In Re: Visa Debit Card Antitrust Litigation, Civil Action No.: 24-cv-7435 (JGK). The case is pending in the Southrern District of New York. Rick Paul is the Paul LLP lead partner heading the case.

This appointment comes after Paul LLP Trial Attorneys filed a civil antitrust suit against Visa, on behalf of Visa debit card holders who used a Visa debit card for their purchases in the United States. The lawsuit alleges that Visa is a monopoly, enabling it to block rivals from introducing lower-priced debit options in violation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Sherman Act and various state laws. As a result, cardholders have paid increased prices whenever they made purchases. The lawsuit seeks to put a stop to Visa’s unlawful and anticompetitive conduct and remedy the harm Visa has caused to consumers.
